Wood Blocks
More games to play
Wood Blocks is a mouse-driven block puzzle where you drag wooden shapes onto a grid and try to fill complete rows and columns to clear them. The pieces are chunky wood-style shapes of varying sizes, not standard Tetrominos. There is no time limit and no falling. It is free to play in your browser with no download, and it works unblocked at school or work.
What is Wood Blocks?
Wood Blocks is a drag-and-drop grid puzzle with a wooden aesthetic. Each round presents you with a few irregularly shaped wooden pieces. You drag them onto a grid and position them wherever they fit. When any full row or column is covered, it clears and you earn points. The goal is to keep clearing lines without running out of space for the next batch of pieces.
Drag and drop controls
All controls are mouse or touch based. Pick up a piece, position it, and drop.
| Action | Desktop | Mobile |
|---|---|---|
| Grab a piece | Click and hold | Tap and hold |
| Position it on the grid | Drag to desired location | Drag with finger |
| Confirm placement | Release the mouse | Lift finger |
| Return a piece to tray | Drag it back off the board | Drag back off the board |
Clearing rows, columns, and scoring
A row or column clears the instant every cell in it is covered by a wooden piece. Triggering more than one clear from a single placement scores a bonus.
| Action | Score effect |
|---|---|
| Clear one row | Base points for each cleared cell |
| Clear one column | Base points for each cleared cell |
| Clear two or more at once | Combo multiplier on top of base points |
| No remaining piece fits | Game over |
Keeping the board clear
- Spread pieces across the board rather than stacking them in one corner. Isolated clusters are harder to clear.
- Before placing a piece, check whether it can set up a clear on its own or combine with the next piece for a combo.
- Tall narrow pieces fit into column gaps; wide flat pieces are best for completing rows. Match piece shape to the open space.
Browser access and free play
